lon Musk, the tech wiz behind Tesla and SpaceX, was supposed to be landing in India any minute now. We were all geared up for a major announcement - Tesla setting up shop in India, a meeting with Prime Minister Modi himself, and billions of dollars potentially flowing in! Huge deal, folks. India's a giant market and Modi's been pushing hard to turn the country into a manufacturing magnet. Tesla coming in would've been a win-win.
But hold! Just yesterday, word came out that Musk's visit is on hold. Why? That's the big question. Some folks say Tesla has a fire to put out back home, others are keeping quiet.
This hold-up is strange timing-wise. India just finished its elections, and Modi is expected to be re-elected. A big Tesla announcement would've been perfect to show progress on his "global manufacturing hub" plans.
On the flip side, Tesla has been facing some challenges lately. Stock prices are down, and they just laid off a bunch of people. A flashy India announcement could've been just what they needed to calm investors down.
To add some spice to the story, a key Tesla exec who was leading the India push just quit this week.
